In July 2023, HarvestShare was featured on WTTG Fox 5’s Pay It Forward morning program. Twice a month, the news station identifies local organizations who are doing good in their community and follows up with a live interview. HarvestShare was on site at the Giving Garden in Potomac, Maryland talking about our new grow-to-donate garden which is located in the backyard of of a generous homeowner. The garden is managed by an all-volunteer crew and all of the produce harvested is donated to local food pantries. Every plant in the garden was grown and donated by Montgomery County residents and Northwood High School in Silver Spring. At the conclusion of the interview, we were surprised with the presentation of a $2200 check from Easterns Automotive Group to help us continue with our mission to reduce food insecurity in MoCo.
